JAM on the Marsh Festival
Our partners, JAM on the Marsh, brought an impressive line-up of fantastic artists to venues across Romney Marsh. This year, we were particularly delighted to support the launch of the JAM Festival Orchestra which was welcomed by an enthusiastic audience! The orchestra, made up of London Mozart Players and local community players, performed Vaughan William’s ever-popular The Lark Ascending and Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue alongside violinist Aki Blendis, Category Finalist in the BBC Young Musician 2022, and pianist John Frederick Hudson.
East Inspiration Days
As part of our skills development strand, Britten Sinfonia carried out two Symphonic Inspiration Days in the East region. Held at Cambridgeshire Music Centre and Saffron Hall, Essex, more than 130 young instrumentalists from across both counties were coached by, and performed alongside a team of Britten Sinfonia musicians. Exploring repertoire by Florence Price, Gershwin, and Beethoven as well as an electro-acoustic piece by Dani Howard.
It made my dream of becoming a musician seem more attainable.
