New Connections

In December, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Leeds Conservatoire students during their Enrichment Week.
Students were invited to attend workshops on Inclusive Music-Making led by the Leeds charity Made with Music. Workshops also included an Introduction to Reflective Practice with evaluator Kirsty Halliday, and a Creative Toolkit session with music leader James Redwood.
Building on these foundations, we're now working with ten Conservatoire students and two local schools in a wider co-creation project, supporting the students in developing their skills as Music Leaders.
Our Music, Our Way

Students from four schools in Redcar and Cleveland are preparing to debut their original musical pieces alongside the Royal Northern Sinfonia (RNS) this March.
As part of Our Music, Our Way, our partnership with Redcar and Cleveland Council and Tees Valley Music Service (TVMS), students have collaborated with musicians from RNS, TVMS, and composer Michael Betteridge Since November 2024.
Together, they've explored the theme of 'Journeys,' examining their sense of place, identity, dreams, and aspirations. The performance will take place at Eston Leisure Centre, with tickets available for purchase online.
We are grateful to our funders, Woodsmith Foundation and Arts Council England, for making this project possible.
After Dark: Music in Nature’s Glow: Turner Sims & London Sinfonietta
We are delighted to be working with Turner Sims this season as part of their preparations to celebrate 50 years of this important venue in Southampton.
Young producers based in the city have visited London Sinfonietta in London and are working with their team to curate an anniversary concert which will take place on Sunday 2nd February at the concert hall. This is the start of a series of development opportunities that we are developing with the Concert Hall for 2025.
Voices of Bolsover: Cultural Corridor & Music in the Round

Our partnership project with Music in the Round, working with community groups and schools in Bolsover and across the Cultural Corridor, has successfully completed its first phase.
Supported by the Scops Trust, we collaborated with local partners over two years to deliver a series of mini concerts, workshops, and consultation sessions.
Led by Music Leader Andy J Smith, we explored themes of the past, present, and future, inspiring the creation of music and poetry in collaboration with the Consone Quartet, Bridge Quartet, and local poet and playwright Lynn Ludditt. Through these concerts, workshops, and sharing events, we’ve had the pleasure of connecting with the wonderful people of Bolsover, who have warmly welcomed us. We look forward to returning very soon!
